LONESTAR ACADEMY 5v5 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

OVERVIEW

The Lonestar 5v5 Champions League is an intra-club league that will give Academy players the opportunity to play small sided games with players from other teams at their training site. The league will allow players increased touches on the ball in a competitive environment, while emphasizing the Five-R’s of soccer: Receiving the ball, Releasing the ball, Running with the ball, Running without the ball, and Retaining the ball.

RULES

Teams will play with a goalkeeper and four (4) field players. Teams will have substitutes and will be a mix of age and skill level. Players will rotate to play all positions. Teams will be formed by the coaches; players will be assigned to a team on the first play date.
Games will consist of eight (8) minute halves and a four (4) minute halftime.
Kickoffs will start the half and will follow goals. Players may dribble/pass-in the ball for all other restarts.
Goalkeepers may not punt the ball.
Some locations may play 3v3 or 4v4 depending on location numbers.

DATES OF PLAY

Teams that practice on Mondays will play on the dates below along with the new times. Teams that practice on Tuesdays will have their play dates during their normal practices on the dates below.

Scoring: win = 6 points, tie = 1 point, loss = 0 points, goal scored (up to 3) = 1 point per goal,

shutout = 1 point
