Feb 05 2013 - LSC Staff
photo INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After leading Rollins to it's third Sunshine State Conference regular season title and a NCAA Tournament run, senior Anita Cox and sophomore Brenna McKee (LSC 93 Red Team Player) were named honorable mention Daktronics All-America, it was announced on Thursday. The team is voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Cox and McKee add the honor to an already long list of postseason praises, with both already taking home first team All-SSC and first team All-South Region honors. Cox was named the SSC Defensive Player of the Year as well, while McKee was named the Offensive Player of the Year in the conference. Cox was also named to the Capital One Academic All-District team.

"Our staff and team are very excited for these two girls to be honored with such a great title of All-American," said Rollins second year head coach Alicia Milyak Shuck.

"Anita has put in extra hours of work during the off-seasons and during season to achieve this goal.  She played her best everyday and to end her career at Rollins with this accomplishment caps things off perfectly!"

"Brenna overcame a year off due to injury and her form after the rehab is a fabulous example of what consistent, hard work is all about.  She is a special player and it will be very exciting to see how this award motivates her for two more seasons in the Rollins Soccer Program."

USC Upstate Athletic News
December 14, 2012
Spartanburg, S.C. – With the 2012 soccer season completed after Indiana's victory in the national championship match last weekend, Dani Alvarado cemented his position among the nation's leading goalkeepers in the final NCAA statistics report.
Alvarado, a sophomore from Leander, Texas, began the season as the starter in net after not seeing any regular season game action as a freshman in 2011. The inexperience rarely showed throughout this year's campaign. He began the season by tying the school's single-game school record with 12 saves in an amazing effort at Clemson in the season opener. He reached double digits in saves in two other games throughout the season.
