Sam began and grew up playing in Colorado for a family-run club, Mount Evans United, before moving to Houston at the age of 11. . After captaining school and club teams and graduating, he moved to Scotland to appear for Elgin City FC and Lossiemouth FC. Sam moved to Manchester, England where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and played soccer at Manchester Metropolitan University. Post-college, he moved to Austin and worked for health & fitness tech startups and provided web/mobile/marketing/IT solutions. Sam joined the Lonestar Junior Academy in 2014 at Justin Lane.
