Lonestars 89G Gold - Champions of the 2006 Director’s Cup

After getting off to a rough start due to a lackluster performance Saturday morning, the Lonestars 89G Gold stormed back to dominate games two and three and claim the top spot in the inaugural South Texas Youth Soccer Association Director’s Cup State Tournament.

Sunday found the Lonestars facing the Western District number two seed, the 89 Lady Lions Black. A goal shortly after the start of the second half put the Lonestars up 2 – 0 and was followed by a third with about 15 minutes remaining to secure the win and push the Lonestars 89G Gold into the top slot.

Despite fighting through adversity, injuries, and playing half of their games in the spring season short and the other half with no subs, this team and these girls have used teamwork and developed a confidence in each other to overcome overwhelming odds and come out on top of the pack.

We are excited to be able to offer multiple recreational programs for ages U4-U18! The programs are LSC-CCU serving Cedar Park and North Austin, LSC-AUC serving South Austin and surround areas, and LSC-CBA now serving Central Austin, such as the Brentwood and Crestview areas.
