The team is voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Cox and McKee add the honor to an already long list of postseason praises, with both already taking home first team All-SSC and first team All-South Region honors. "Our staff and team are very excited for these two girls to be honored with such a great title of All-American," said Rollins second year head coach Alicia Milyak Shuck.

"Brenna overcame a year off due to injury and her form after the rehab is a fabulous example of what consistent, hard work is all about.  She is a special player and it will be very exciting to see how this award motivates her for two more seasons in the Rollins Soccer Program."

LSC USSF Alumni, Dani Alvarado
Jan 08 2013 - LSC Staff

USC Upstate Athletic News
December 14, 2012
Spartanburg, S.C. – With the 2012 soccer season completed after Indiana's victory in the national championship match last weekend, Dani Alvarado cemented his position among the nation's leading goalkeepers in the final NCAA statistics report.
Alvarado, a sophomore from Leander, Texas, began the season as the starter in net after not seeing any regular season game action as a freshman in 2011. The inexperience rarely showed throughout this year's campaign. He began the season by tying the school's single-game school record with 12 saves in an amazing effort at Clemson in the season opener. He reached double digits in saves in two other games throughout the season.

"Dani had a great season for us, particularly in his first year as a regular starter," said Upstate head coach Greg Hooks. "He consistently played well and made a lot of big saves to allow us to stay in games. His play allowed us to stay close in games even when we were outshot. In some cases, his play helped us win games. Our team took a lot of confidence in the fact that Dani was in goal and, in turn, focused on pushing forward to score and win some games."

Alvarado finished the year ranked 18th in the country with a 0.830 save percentage, 21st with 5.18 saves per game and 27th in total saves. Playing every minute in goal for Upstate, he helped the team record the 16th-best save percentage overall at .835.

Alvarado was one of the A-Sun's top keepers as well. He ranked second in the league in save percentage, third in saves and saves per game, fourth with five shutouts and fifth with a 1.01 goals against average. Behind his leadership on defense, Upstate was able to tie for the most wins during the school's Division I era (5) and claim the most A-Sun wins (3) in school history. He helped lead the Spartans to their first appearance in the A-Sun Tournament since joining the conference and Division I in 2007 and earning eligibility to play in the event in 2009.

She scored the game-winning goal in a win over Manhattanville College (9/09), earned the assist on the game-winning goal against No. 7 nationally ranked and previously unbeaten Wheaton College (10/16) and she set up the lone goal that led MIT to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 with a double-overtime win against No. 23 nationally ranked The College of New Jersey in the second round of the NCAA tournament (11/11).

LSC Alumni Averett and Boyd Garner All-America Honors
Dec 10 2010 - Lonestar Staff

KANSAS City, Kan.  For the second-straight season, the St. Edward’s women’s soccer team has a player on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-America Team. The difference this year is the Hilltoppers have two representatives on the team. Both Janae Averett and Kelly Boyd were both named third-team all-America. In 2009, Kim Abbott was named first-team all-america.

Averett (Senior, Round Rock, Texas) was named Daktronics first-team all-region, NSCAA first-team all-region, and Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Year. She finished second on the Hilltopper squad with 11 goals and 25 points. On the season, the forward had five game-winning goals. She did all this while missing four matches during the season.

"Janae is a dynamic athlete with the speed and acceleration to succeed against most defensive players, head coach Nick Cowell said. She has matured into a player who gives 100% effort on the field, both offensively and defensively, which is what is required to play in our 1-3-4-3 system. Janae's goal production has increased every year as her confidence has increased. As a freshman, she scored 7% of the team's goals. Her percentage increased to 10% as a sophomore, 17% as a junior and 22% as a senior. I hope that Janae also decides to keep playing after graduation in Sweden, just like last year's seniors were able."

Boyd (Senior, Round Rock, Texas) was also named Daktronics first-team all-region, NSCAA first-team all-region, Heartland Conference Player of the Year, and Conference Defensive Player of the Year. She anchored a defense that produced 11 shutouts and held the opposition to only 13 goals, 89 shots and 45 shots on goal in 21 matches. The defender also had one assist to go along with her one game-winning goal.

"Kelly Boyd has been the rock of our defensive efforts over the past four years,” Cowell said. She is a great athlete and has really taken on the role of being a communicator and leader on the field. She is aggressive but also smart and is a winner. Kelly is the quintessential student-athlete, succeeding in the classroom as a Forensic Science major and a 4-year starter on the field. I hope that Kelly is able to continue to play at a high level after graduation, possibly in Sweden."

The Hilltoppers finished the season tying the school record for victories with a 17-2-2 record. For the first time in program history, St. Edward’s advanced to the Elite Eight. They also hosted a NCAA Regional for the second time in school history, and the third and fourth rounds for the first time. The future looks bright for St. Edward’s as the Hilltoppers lose seven seniors, in which only three were starters off of this year’s team.

photo Ashleigh Johnson, a senior defender from Austin, Texas, was the best defender on the best defensive team in the league as Austin College led the SCAC in goals allowed (eight) and goals against average (0.46). Johnson successfully marked each team’s best forward (unfortunately some have of you had more than one) and was a big reason the ‘Roos posted 10 shutouts this season (second in the SCAC).  She is the first women’s soccer player from Austin College to receive one of the league’s major postseason awards since the ‘Roos joined the SCAC prior to the 2006 season.

Johnson received six votes in the Defensive POTY voting, while Trinity’s junior defender Allyson Thrall picked up two votes. Sophomore defender Amy Hebbeler of Centre, sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Nonaka of Southwestern University, and senior goalkeeper Lauren Palfrey of DePauw University each received one vote.

Jan 26 2006 - Staff

Lonestar SC alumni, Stephanie Logterman has just recently played for the United States Women's U20 National Team (#3) in the U20 World Cup Qualifying as one of the starting eleven.

Stephanie was a tremendous player within the Lonestar SC and still plays a major role in our club.  Steph most recently participated as a volunteer in our inaugural Lonestar/HACA Soccer Clinic in South Austin.  She is a tremendous asset to our LSC family.

Great job Steph!  Go USA and Lonestar SC!

This picture was taken prior to the Surinam match.  Furthermore, the U20's WNT qualified for the upcoming U20 World Cup. Congratulations!
