The Lonestar Recreational Program is designed to be a fun and enjoyable experience for all players. We incorporate social interaction, motor skill and technical development through games and exercises. Games are on Saturdays with the potential for Sundays as well. All recreational teams are managed by parent volunteers.

Fall seasons run mid-September to mid-November.

Spring seasons run mid-February to late April.

Please note, the number of player registrations at each location will determine the combination of age groups and if the league is coed. All teams will be formed on a first come first serve basis.

United States Soccer Federation Age Group and Format changes

The USSF is mandating the following changes to ALL youth soccer clubs:

  • Small sided-game formats
  • Age group/team formation by birth year (Jan. 1-Dec. 31)
  • For more information on the age group change for Lonestar players, click here.

Lonestar Recreational Policies:

  • No heading for any players 12 years old or younger
  • For more information on the no heading policy, click here.
  • No punting for any players 12 years old or younger - this is a developmental and safety concern to reduce the risk of concussions and other potential injuries
  • For the 2016 year, LSC will be flexible with the teams and individuals playing up based on the recommendation of each Recreational Site Director.  These decisions will be based on the safety of each individual child as well as their overall soccer development.  However, this decision will be a case by case situation and seasonal basis.  There is no guarantee to play up each season.
