Frequently Asked Questions

The Lonestar SC Junior Academy program is designed for players who excel at the recreational level and seek a more competitive environment with advanced coaching. The program is open to any U5, U6, U7, U8, U9, or U10 player, and serves as a precursor to Select Soccer which begins at U11. The Jr. Academy emphasizes individual player development to prepare players for the select level.

Individual player development is achieved through a competitive learning environment, the Lonestar professional coaching staff, and unique program curriculum. The Lonestar Jr. Academy curriculum develops and evaluates players in the four pillars of the game (technical, tactical, physiological, and psychosocial), fostering creative and confident young athletes that embody the core values of a Lonestar SC player.

Promoting a "Winning Through Development" philosophy, Lonestar Soccer Club provides opportunities for players to have fun and succeed as they grow their love for the game.

Development attributes of the Lonestar Jr. Academy and its unique design include:
- Teams formation through player evaluation and placement to ensure the maximal developmental environment
- No league standings, but competitive games against teams of similar ability
- No set rosters; players may be moved to train and play games with different teams to be challenged throughout the season
- Flexibility of each team's schedule
- No punting

- No heading at training or games for player safety
