While at West Texas A&M, he earned both a Bachelor and Masters degree in Business. Wes also represented the University playing soccer, where he served as team captain and was a recognized All-Conference and All-Region player. The team won two regional championships, three conference championships and had two NCAA “Elite 8” Appearances.
