<p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">See the Top 5 Reasons Lonestar SC Chose the Girls' Development Academy (DA) here</span></p>
#1 - Player Centric Model
The DA is a player centric model, focused on individual player development (opposed to a league built on a business model). This elite training environment promotes increased technical standards & allows for greater accountability for the players & coaches.
#2 - Highest Level of Play/Training
By participating in the DA, a player will have significantly more hours on the training field focused on refining technique & tactical understanding. Additionally, the DA will host the best clubs & players in the U.S. creating the highest level of competition. U.S. Soccer only admitted clubs who met its specific high set of standards - over 200 clubs submitted applications to the DA, but only 69 clubs will compete in the 2017-18 season making it the most selective program in the country.
#3 - Professionalized Coaching, Minimum License Standards & Continuing Education
One of the criteria used by the U.S. Soccer Development Academy in the selection process of choosing its members was the Leadership in the Club & Quality of the Coaching Staff. The DA will be the first & only girls' national program to professionalize coaching license standards as well as provide a pathway for continuous education. U.S. Soccer Technical Staff (Technical Advisors) will provide regular communication to our coaches and Directors based on feedback from visits to our club & game evaluations. LSC players will benefit on the field as a reflection from coaches vesting in their profession on an annual basis.
#4 - Ten Month Competition Schedule
The DA provides a consistent ten-month schedule without any interruption of the high school season. LSC supports this initiative for the elite player because it creates a consistent training schedule with proper rest & recovery between each match.
#5 - Addition of More Age Groups
Originally, the DA only included 3 age groups but has recently expanded to the U14 age group with ongoing conversations of additional age groups in the future.
