Founded by passionate soccer enthusiasts dedicated to nurturing the next generation of athletes, Lonestar Soccer Club has been a cornerstone of the local community. Over the past two decades, the club has earned a national reputation for its focus on skill development, instilling core values and providing a competitive platform for aspiring girls and boys to thrive from Recreational through to College and Professional soccer.
“It’s really hard to fathom that Lonestar has been around for 20 years now,” said former President Buck Baccus. “Our success has exceeded my wildest expectations. For those unfamiliar with the full story, Lonestar came to life at a time when the Austin area had trouble competing with Houston and Dallas, much less destinations beyond. We were able to unify the clubs in Austin, and create a platform for our players to compete with any team in the country. There were many other benefits that came along with the formation, but economies of scale was a big one. Today our under 4 players can join and play for free including the uniform. I’m as proud of that single highlight as I am of the many national, regional, and state championships won by Lonestar at all levels. It has been an honor and privilege to be part of Lonestar.”
