San Antonio, TX, October 25th – Lonestar Soccer Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Kuchka as the new Director of Coaching for Lonestar SAFC, marking a significant step in the club’s expansion efforts in San Antonio. The new expansion club will be based at the Alamo Sportsplex, reflecting a commitment to developing soccer talent in the region.
In his new role, Kuchka aims to provide soccer pathway opportunities for players, particularly in the western parts of San Antonio, where opportunities have been limited. “I’m excited to help Lonestar/SAFC expand its reach in San Antonio, particularly by providing levels of play that haven’t been available to players in the western parts of the city,” he stated. “I believe an organization like Lonestar/SAFC can offer stability for both players and their families through consistent, high-quality programs.”
Maca Teale, Director of Lonestar SAFC, expressed his enthusiasm for Kuchka’s appointment: “We are delighted to add Rick to the Lonestar SAFC coaching staff as his knowledge and experience will enhance the Northwest side of the city. The players and families will now have a clear pathway, as we continue to offer more opportunities and bring high-quality programs to that part of the city.”
Kuchka brings a wealth of experience and an impressive coaching background to the position. He holds several coaching licenses, including the USSF C License, USC Advanced National Diploma, and the USC Director of Coaching Diploma, among others. His extensive involvement in youth soccer includes his current roles as Chairman of ACYSO and Executive Director of Alamo City Youth Sports Organization.
Throughout his career, Kuchka has led teams to various successes, including multiple state cup championships and league promotions. His commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment will be crucial in developing not only exceptional soccer players but also well-rounded individuals. “I look forward to meeting with families at our upcoming player opportunity events and clinics, and to showcasing all that Lonestar/SAFC has to offer,” he added.
Juan Lamadrid, Director of SAFC Pro Academy & USL Assistant Coach, also shared this message: “We’re excited to expand the Lonestar SAFC program to the northwest side of the city, creating more opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills and passion for soccer. This new location will help continue the mission of fostering talent and building a strong soccer community.”
Kuchka’s educational background includes an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Phoenix, alongside an Associate degree in Electronic Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. He also holds an Entrepreneurship Certification from the Wharton School of Business, further enhancing his capabilities in club management and player development.
As Lonestar SAFC prepares for its upcoming season, Kuchka’s leadership is anticipated to drive the club’s mission of nurturing talent and enhancing the soccer community in San Antonio.
