Austin, TX – May 28, 2025 – Lonestar is proud to announce the appointment of Cio Bargallo to its Girls Junior National Program. Cio joins the club with a distinguished coaching background and a proven track record of developing strong, talented young athletes, making her a valuable addition to the team.

Originally from Blanes, Spain, a coastal town near Barcelona, Cio developed a deep passion for soccer at the age of six, inspired by watching the legendary Ronaldinho. After finishing her Baccalaureate in Spain, Cio moved to the United States to pursue her academic and athletic ambitions, playing collegiate soccer at Texas A&M International University for three seasons while earning her degree.

Cio’s coaching career spans several years, with notable roles at Laredo Heat and Barça Academy Austin. During her time at Barça Academy Austin, Cio was instrumental in the development of youth players across multiple age groups, from U8 to U16. Her approach to coaching, combining technical skill development with a focus on building strong, cohesive teams, has earned her respect within the soccer community. Her positive influence, engaging personality, and deep commitment to player growth have helped cultivate some of the academy’s most promising young talent.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Cio to our Girls Junior National Staff,” said Tommy St. John, Executive Director at Lonestar. “Cio has consistently demonstrated exceptional coaching abilities, especially in her time at Barça Academy Austin, where she played a key role in developing well-rounded young players. Her expertise, dedication, and leadership are a perfect fit for our program, and we look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on our athletes.”

Cio holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Special Education with a focus on Applied Behavioral Analysis from Texas A&M International University. This academic background, paired with her practical experience working with youth athletes, allows her to approach player development holistically, ensuring that each athlete’s individual needs are met both on and off the field.

“I am honored to join the Girls Junior National Staff at Lonestar Soccer Club and excited for the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the next generation of female soccer players,” said Cio. “I look forward to working with such talented athletes and supporting them in reaching their full potential, both as soccer players and individuals.”

The club is confident that her experience, passion, and dedication to player development will further elevate the standard of excellence already in place at Lonestar. Welcome Cio!
