From the Coaching Staff
“We couldn’t be prouder and more excited to have not just one, but two teams competing for a National Championship,” said Jackie Pope, ECNL RL staff coach. “The girls’ hard work, dedication, and resilience have brought them to this incredible moment, and our entire staff is behind them every step of the way.
We’re thrilled to live in this moment — the chance to play for a National Championship doesn’t come easy, and we’re embracing every second of it as a team and staff. Representing Lonestar Soccer Club means everything to us, and we’re ready to fight for that fifth star with heart, pride, and unity.”
Peter McCann, Head Coach of 2010G Red and Head of ECNL RL Division, said:
“As Head Coach of the 2010s, I’ve witnessed firsthand the relentless effort, determination, and growth the girls have poured into the past year. Their journey has been marked by grit, unity, and a deep commitment to one another — a true reflection of what it means to be a team at Lonestar Soccer Club.
Coaching this group over the past three years has been a true honor. Now, as we prepare for our final rodeo together, we’re focused and ready to compete for the National Championship trophy.”
Tom Shortland, Head of Player Development and Head Coach, added:
“What a phenomenal season it has been—one that now sees two of our standout teams earning their place on the national stage! This achievement is a powerful reflection of the collaboration, commitment, and collective belief shared across every corner of our club. As we look ahead to Nationals, we carry not just excitement, but momentum. Post-season training now becomes an opportunity—to elevate our game, to honor the hard work already invested, and to continue shaping the legacy of these talented young players. With two more stars in sight, we’re ready to etch the next chapter of our story into the badge we proudly wear.
None of this would be possible without the steadfast support of our families, whose sacrifices, encouragement, and belief form the foundation of this journey. Their commitment has been the backbone of this success. To everyone who’s been part of this remarkable ride—thank you. The club couldn’t be prouder. Let’s keep pushing forward, together.”
The Executive Leadership Team also shared their appreciation:
“On behalf of Lonestar Soccer Club, we understand the level of sacrifice and commitment it takes to reach this stage of the season. We want to recognize and sincerely thank all the parents who have supported the girls, our coaches, and the club throughout this journey.”
Good luck to our players, parents, and coaches.
We are Lonestar.
