Major Investment in Youth Soccer Infrastructure in Central Texas
We’re thrilled to announce a major investment in the future of youth soccer in Central Texas! Lonestar Soccer Club has partnered with Williamson County to upgrade four existing grass fields at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park (WCRP) to high-quality, FIFA-certified artificial turf.
Construction is expected to begin in early 2026, with the new fields projected to be ready to play by fall 2026. This transformation will position WCRP as one of the premier youth soccer facilities in Texas, serving not only our Lonestar players but the broader Central Texas soccer community for years to come.
“The Commissioners Court has talked about taking our fields to the next level with synthetic turf for some time,” said Pct. 3 Commissioner Valerie Covey. “I see it as a win-win in every aspect, and I really appreciate the partnership with Lonestar Soccer Club on this.”

What This Means for Lonestar Families
Enhanced Quality and Playability
FIFA-certified artificial turf provides the highest quality playing surface and allows year-round use in all weather conditions. Currently, the Austin area has only one FIFA-certified turf field. This project will add four more, providing our players and community with top-quality playing surfaces that meet international standards.
