Sam Wormald

Sam grew up playing in Colorado from the age of 3 through his family’s club, Mount Evans United, before moving to Houston at the age of 11. After captaining high school and club teams and graduating, he moved to Scotland to appear for Elgin City FC and Lossiemouth FC. Sam moved to Manchester, England where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and played at Manchester Metropolitan University. Post-university, he moved to Austin and worked for health & fitness tech startups as a software developer building websites and mobile applications for various organizations around the Austin/Central Texas area, including Lonestar SC itself. Sam joined Lonestar SC in 2014 as a Junior Academy coach, and has progressed after growing and building multiple programs for Lonestar SC including Camps & Programs, Recreational and Junior Academy, while coaching players across the program. Sam is passionate about delivering a quality soccer experience to all youth at the club and ensuring every player fulfills their potential on and off the field.
