Austin, June 13, 2024 – Our club proudly announces the appointment of Tom Shortland as the new Head of Girls Player Development. With a distinguished coaching and scouting background, Tom brings a ton of experience and a proven track record of success to his new role at Lonestar.

Tom Shortland’s journey in player development is a testament to his passion and dedication to the sport. As both a coach and a scout, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of aspiring athletes, with several of his former players currently representing the youth national teams such as United States and Colombia.

The former Hull City (England) youth player has always had an eye for talent and strategic approach to player development have seen numerous players under his guidance secure coveted spots in prestigious collegiate programs such as the University of North Carolina (UNC), the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and the University of Southern California (USC). His ability to identify and cultivate talent has not only elevated individual careers but also contributed to the overall success of the teams he has been involved with.
