U9-U12 – Pre-ECNL

The Lonestar Pre-ECNL experience focuses on the individual player through technical training, skill acquisition, small-sided games, and introducing important training and learning concepts within the training and game environment. Building confidence for the child, along with learning valuable life lessons through the game of soccer, is a big part of the development pathway for these younger players. This program and curriculum help to prepare players that may be on the path to the Lonestar National Program and playing in the most competitive league in the country: the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), which begins at U13. The U9 to U12 Lonestar Pre-ECNL teams play in the 7v7 and 9v9 formats, while introducing the 11v11 format to the U12 players & teams that are closer to the Lonestar National Program. These teams are assigned age appropriate, qualified, and experienced coaches, who will provide:

  • Increased individual attention, tailoring the appropriate challenges (or additional challenges) based on the needs of the player
  • Competitive game schedule to allow players and teams to have a combination of success and adversity, including local and Pre-ECNL tournaments
  • Detailed technical and tactical instruction
  • Video-based performance analysis
  • Consistent evaluation and feedback
  • Additional training and games throughout the year
