FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TX – Sept 9th – Lonestar Soccer Club is proud to announce the continuation of its collaboration with Dell Children’s Medical Center, extending a relationship built on a shared commitment to keeping young athletes healthy, safe, and supported both on and off the field.

With nearly 12,000 players across Austin, San Antonio, and Central Texas, Lonestar Soccer Club is entrusted every day with the wellbeing of thousands of children. Through our continued collaboration, Dell Children’s and Ascension Seton remain the exclusive medical provider for Lonestar Soccer Club, giving families confidence that their child can play at their best in a safe environment.

Dell Children’s provides certified athletic trainers at every major Lonestar location across Austin covering practices, games, clinics, and tournaments with on-site injury evaluation, prevention, and emergency response. Players have direct access to pediatric specialists, a broader network of Ascension Seton clinics and hospitals, and telehealth appointments when families need care beyond the sidelines. Dell Children’s also provides Lonestar players, parents, and coaches with educational resources on staying safe in the Texas heat, concussion recovery, nutrition, sleep, and mental health, giving families the tools to support their athletes both physically and emotionally.

“Every child who steps onto a Lonestar field deserves to play with the confidence that their health and safety are a priority,” said Liv Welsh, Head of Development at Lonestar Soccer Club. “Dell Children’s makes that possible. Their trainers, education, and genuine care for our players helps us provide a holistic, health-centered approach to developing young athletes at every level of play. We’re excited to continue this collaboration with a medical partner who believes, as we do, that access to play in a safe environment is a public health issue, and that protecting our athletes’ wellbeing is the most important thing we do as a club.”

“We’re excited to extend our agreement with Lonestar Soccer Club. We look forward to continuing to provide high-quality and comprehensive sports medicine services, help student-athletes compete safely, recover quickly, and meet the needs of our rapidly growing community,” said Dell Children’s President, Adam Messer.

Dell Children’s commitment to the health and wellbeing of Central Texas families goes beyond the medical care their athletic trainers provide our players. As a significant contributor to Lonestar’s P.L.A.Y. (Protecting the Lives of All Youth) financial aid program, they help remove financial barriers so more kids have the opportunity to play.

This continued collaboration reflects both organizations’ dedication to building a healthier, safer future for youth sports in Central Texas. Lonestar Soccer Club looks forward to many more seasons of partnership with Dell Children’s, grounded in a shared commitment to giving every young athlete the opportunity to play, grow, and thrive in a safe environment.

About Dell Children’s: Dell Children’s Medical Center is the region’s only comprehensive children’s hospital and pediatric Level I trauma center. In 2023, Dell Children’s expanded with the opening of Dell Children’s North Campus, increasing access to pediatric emergency care, Level III trauma services, operating and procedure rooms and outpatient services. Dell Children’s now includes both the Main and North campuses, offering greater access to specialized care across the region. The collaboration with Dell Medical School at The University of Texas has fueled the growth of top-tier pediatric specialty programs. This team includes physicians and advanced practitioners employed by Dell Medical School alongside physicians, nurses and support staff employed by Dell Children’s. Together, nearly 400 healthcare professionals are dedicated to the care of the most vulnerable children and are a testament to the success of this academic and clinical partnership, which allows for the development of the highest level of care and advances the available treatments used to care for children.
