As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Lonestar Soccer Club is dedicated to being the best youth soccer club in the nation while developing good people. The club believes every child deserves the chance to be part of a team, regardless of age, skill level, background, or socioeconomic status. This commitment is reflected in the P.L.A.Y. (Protecting the Lives of All Youth) campaign, which promotes acceptance and inclusivity for all children and will kick off on October 1st.
What is the P.L.A.Y. Campaign?
The P.L.A.Y. Campaign is a vital initiative that resonates throughout the Lonestar Soccer Club community. Each player proudly wears the P.L.A.Y. logo on their uniforms, symbolizing the club’s dedication to inclusivity. Through P.L.A.Y. and the Lonestar Financial Aid Program, the club ensures that no child is turned away from the beautiful game, providing financial assistance to those in need.
Each year, the Lonestar community—players, teams, families, staff, and supporters—comes together for a multi-week fundraising drive known as P.L.A.Y. This campaign serves two main purposes:
- Financial Assistance: It raises funds to support children who need help participating in soccer. Many families face difficult choices between their child’s development and engaging in active, social activities with peers. Lonestar Soccer Club alleviates these pressures, ensuring that children can join a team without financial barriers.
- Awareness and Advocacy: The campaign also raises awareness for the club’s anti-discrimination platform. Lonestar Soccer Club is committed to creating an environment where all kids feel comfortable and confident embracing their identities, regardless of their background.
In the last fiscal year, the club successfully raised over $110,000 and awarded more than $660,000 to players and families in need. The Lonestar Financial Aid Program has generated over $1.90 million and awarded more than $4.2 million to over 7,000 players across Austin and Central Texas. This year, the financial support provided by the club is more essential than ever for families seeking to support their children’s development.
