Marcelo Chapa

Biography

Marcelo grew up in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, where he played in the youth system under Athletico San Luis before moving back to San Antonio, TX. He attended Southwest High School, winning a district title and being named district MVP. Marcelo played at Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) for all four years, serving as captain for three. During his time at OLLU, the team won the conference and tournament titles and made a national tournament appearance. He began coaching at OLLU as a graduate student while earning his Master’s in Leadership. In 2015, he started working for Classics Elite, coaching numerous teams at all levels. Currently, he coaches the 2012, 2011, and 2006/2007 RL Red teams under SAFC-RL/LSC. Marcelo holds a USSF D license and is working towards obtaining his C license.
